AIT’s Flight Simulyzer™ for ARINC 664 Adds Support for Record & Replay of Packet Capture (PCAP) Files

Avionics Interface Technologies (AIT) has announced the latest release of its industry-leading Flight Simulyzer™ (F-SIM) avionics databus protocol analyzer with support for ARINC 664/AFDX® network data capture, recording, and replay to and from standard PCAP files. Network data capture is supported using AIT’s ARINC 664 Test & Simulation modules, or standard LAN (NIC) interfaces. During data capture, live ARINC 664 network statistics and activity is displayed to give a concise view of ARINC 664 network activity.

Flight Simulyzer is currently available for Windows XP, Windows 7, and Linux (Ubuntu & CentOS) and provides the ARINC 664 data capture when used in conjuction with AIT’s line of ARINC 664 Test & Simulation modules, or when used with a standard host network adapter (NIC). Replay features are availble using the AIT ARINC 664 modules which are currently available for PCI/PCI-X, PCI Express, PXI, PMC, and XMC.

Flight Simulyzer is designed to provide simple and intuitive monitoring and analysis of databus activity. When capturing network data, live capture displays are provided to show active Virtual Links, source End Systems, source Partitions (by IP Address), destination Partitions, and destination UDP ports. Detected message counts, error counts, data rates and message rates are also provided.

The ARINC 664 data capture is easy to use and can be started in a single click and optionally recorded to PCAP files which are compatible with industry standard tools such as Wireshark. Previously captured network data stored in PCAP files can also be replayed, with accurate network packet timing, using Flight Simulyzer and the AIT ARINC 664 interface modules.

The Flight Simulyzer application is designed to take advantage of the full functionality of AIT’s entire line of MIL-STD-1553, ARINC 429, and ARINC 664/AFDX® boards. These boards are available in multiple form factors, including PXI, PCI, PCI Express, and USB. The USB1553 and USB429 combined with F-SIM for Linux represent an affordable solution for any portable avionics analyzer or data recording application. Other F-SIM applications include production-level testing and verification, rapid prototyping, flight-line diagnostics and testing, and in-flight testing.
